Meet Me on Monday 8/16/10

1. What is your favorite dessert?
Well it really depends on my mood, and there are so many desserts out in the world, who am I to discriminate? As long as it doesn't have coffee in it, I'm good! If I'm in a fancy restaurant, creme brulee is the winner.

2. What do you wear to bed?
Pajama bottoms with a t-shirt. Victoria's Secret makes awesome jammies, but I've also found good ones at Target for far less!

3. Do you get regular manicures/pedicures?
I love the look of a nice manicure, but they just don't last on me, plus I'm allergic to adhesive and fake nails are just a recipe for disaster. I do get pedis regularly in the summertime, but usually rotate between the self-pedi and the "pro" pedi. In the wintertime, it's a good 2 months between because after all, who's going to see my toes?

4. Did you play any sports in high school?
I had a brief stint as a cheerleader but other than that, nope. I am definitely not as athletic as my younger sisters who were soccer and basketball stars.

5. Do you have an iPod?
Yes! I have an iTouch which I love.

Penguin cookies

Made these little cuties this weekend for my friend Leslie's 50th birthday party. As you could probably guess she collects penguins. It was my first experience using black icing - interesting. I had to remind myself that the color would darken after some time. At first it was an unappetizing gray-purple but as you can see it turned out black (as did our tongues after eating them). People say the black tint changes the flavor of the royal icing but I couldn't tell. Maybe because most if it was covered with white. It did take quite a lot if gel though. I used Americolor gel colors, in case you were wondering.
