Meet me on Monday


One of the blogs I just started reading recently (Never Growing Old) just started a weekly tradition called Meet Me On Monday. She asks five questions and then responds with her answers, along with inviting her readers to answer the questions on their own blogs. We share a "linky" (image at left) which links us all together.

Now I normally don't post more than once a week, at least not lately. But blogs are supposed to be social things and lately I've felt like mine is pretty one-sided. That's not the end of the world, since I really blog for me (sorry, readers, that's just how I roll, and as I've said before, keeps my material "real"). I would still blog regardless of whether anyone reads the drivel - but considering you've read this much, I do hope you will consider participating in the linky, or even just post your own answers below in the comments. I'd like to get to know you, and hopefully you'd like to get to know me too.

Speaking of knowing me, who am I kidding here? I might not do this religiously every Monday, but maybe a couple times a month. I'd hate for my blog to turn into a big "me" fest. Still, don't let that keep you from participating yourself in the Never Growing Old MMOM posts. See you there!

Questions:

1. What do your normally eat for breakfast?
I have a cup of yogurt and then when I sit down at my desk for work, a cereal bar. My favorite yogurt is Fry's generic Pineapple Coconut. I could eat it every day for months. And I have. Scary, huh? I don't know if that will make me live to 120, but you never know.

2. What kind of vehicle do you drive?
A 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. It's a great and mostly reliable vehicle.

3. Have you ever met a famous person(s)?
Yes, I have met several including Darius Rucker (Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish), Larry Winget, Tom Brokaw, Louie Anderson, Roger Staubach and Drew Pearson (though the last two were met separately and in different years, believe it or not!).
     

4. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Gosh, that's a tough question because there are so many to choose from! When we go to Cold Stone, I always order the Birthday Cake Remix concoction.

5. Which TV Channel do you watch the most?
I guess it would be a toss-up between HGTV and Food Network.

Penguin cookies

Made these little cuties this weekend for my friend Leslie's 50th birthday party. As you could probably guess she collects penguins. It was my first experience using black icing - interesting. I had to remind myself that the color would darken after some time. At first it was an unappetizing gray-purple but as you can see it turned out black (as did our tongues after eating them). People say the black tint changes the flavor of the royal icing but I couldn't tell. Maybe because most if it was covered with white. It did take quite a lot if gel though. I used Americolor gel colors, in case you were wondering.
