Paint projects, busy weekends, fun stuff to come and good food too
Well it's Sunday evening, and time for another blog post. We had a nice weekend, far more relaxing than last week. Let's back up...
Terry was in Lake Tahoe for a business trip last weekend (including a few days prior and after) so I decided to surprise him by painting our downstairs and master bathrooms. I didn't post about this previously because (a) I wanted it to be a surprise for him and (b) I really didn't want anyone to know he was out of town til he got back. Well, he was surprised! Our downstairs bath is now "peanut butter" instead of candy apple red which you would surely remember if you have ever been to our house. Upstairs is "rejuvenate" which translates to a light green color which looks great with the (new) dark brown blinds, towels and accent rugs. Actually, I was unable to install one of the blinds because the previous owners stripped some screws in the old blinds' brackets and we have to figure out how to solve this problem. ARGH.
So yes, we were both quite busy last weekend, but it certainly paid off because we have two beautiful like-new bathrooms and because Terry won a trip to Hawaii. Again. How awesome is that?
So, on to this weekend - we had "Suzie day" on Friday because yesterday Terry golfed with friends and today he went to an all-day British Open party. When I say all-day, I mean all-day. It started at 6:30AM. No kidding. He and Justin (who is friends with the host's son) spent the whole day there and didn't come home til about 6:30. Then they both promptly fell asleep on the couches and I had to coerce them into going to bed for the night. So now it's time for me to catch up on The Next Food Network Star and Design Star. Oh, and type a blog post :)
So next weekend we are taking Justin and his friends to a waterpark on Saturday to celebrate his birthday and then having "family birthday" on Sunday which is his real birthday. He's already requested his favorite meal, barbecued ribs and homemade macaroni and cheese, same as last year. Also same as last hear is his request for a cookie cake in lieu of a traditional birthday cake.
Oh, and there's another surprise for someone next weekend, but sorry readers, you will just have to wait until next weekend's edition of the drivel. :)
