Sunday blessings
It has been a while since I updated y'all on the goings on in our household, so let's give it a go...
Suzy just returned the other day from a 2-week trip to visit family in Michigan and Ohio. She had a great time, including participating in a motorcycle rally! Today is our first day with her since she returned. She always has a good time at our house on Sundays. Today unfortunately she is not having the best day. She's a little more confused than normal and I think it might be just the stress of getting back into her routine. Hopefully when she gets back into the groove of things, things will be better for her (and for us, considering how days like today really take a toll on our patience).
Eric is probably the one with the most changes around here, all in a matter of a few days too. He started his senior year and is actually excited about all his classes and loves all his teachers. He actually has a 1/2 day because his first hour is Business Internship class, which gives him 3 credits because he also takes on a part time job. And just the other day he was just hired as a part-timer at a Discount Tire Company shop. He will be a maintenance tech for a few months til he learns more, and then will make his way up to tire tech. He still does not have his license but he should soon. Even once he does, he will not have a car right away (til he can save up for one anyway) but fortunately the store is on the bus route and he can get a student discount on a pass. DTC stores close at 6 every day (5 on Saturdays) and are not open Sundays so the hours actually are ideal for him - he'll still be able to keep his social life.
We are thrilled, not only because Eric now actually has a job, but also because it's such a great company to work for. They are well known for how well they treat their employees and it will be a great place for him to learn and grow. Yes folks, sounds like he just might actually be at the threshold of adulthood.
Justin started 8th grade last week. He likes some classes, and dislikes others, which is normal of course. We can't believe next year is high school for him. He and Terry have been entranced in Dawgs Football. Once again Terry is the assistant coach and Justin was just confirmed as starting fullback. They have a scrimmage this week, and their first official game is over Labor Day weekend. This year, the Dawgs brought together the best of three different teams, so they should be really good. Of course, pics will be uploaded to my Flickr page in time.
With Terry so busy with football (practice 5 nights a week!) I've been finding time to enjoy yoga at the gym, reading and my latest crafting passion, beading. I have made some really nice jewelry as well as some pretty jeweled bookmarks and wine glass charms. I'm amazed at how nice these things are for being homemade - customized at just a fraction of the cost that I could purchase them for in a store, even Target!
Well it's almost time to take Sunday dinner out of the oven so I'm going to sign off. Have a fabulous week!
