Meet me on Monday 10/4/10
I don't know if you noticed, but last week I did not participate in this blog hop. Truth is, things come up in "real life" that change your priorities and that's OK. I've decided I'm probably going to just do it bi-weekly instead of weekly. The last thing I need is to be a slave to my blog.
Here's this week's installment - do we have anything in common?
1. What is the best dish you can make?
I pride myself on my cooking and love to do it. There is tremendous satisfaction in blessing my family with a home-cooked, nutritious and delicious meal. I have been doing it for many years and I think over the past couple of those I've improved my technique a lot. My top dishes would be homemade mac & cheese, lasagne, schnitzel (breaded & pan-fried pork chops), and I make a really mean turkey on the holidays. But the one thing that I've recently developed an awesome recipe and technique for is barbecue ribs! Maybe I'll share the recipe someday... maybe not.
2. How often do you change your sheets?
Tuesday is the day I usually launder the sheets. I'd like to say that I do it regularly, weekly, but sometimes I do miss a week and we are forced to wallow in our own filth for a couple more days.
3. What is the longest car trip you have ever taken?
That would be back in April 2001 when I drove with my faithful basset hound companion and a U-Haul trailer from Rochester, NY out to Arizona where we now live. According to Google Maps, that's 2,418 miles. I split it up over 5 days and was able to spend one day with my Aunt in Memphis. The longest driving day was14 hours but only because I missed a turn in Louisville, Kentucky!
4. What is your favorite fruit?
I love pineapple but it does terrible things to my digestive system.
5. Would you rather have breakfast for dinner or dinner for breakfast?
I'm not much of a breakfast eater but I can't do dinner for breakfast so plate me up a big portion of pancakes please!

I know what you mean about being a slave to your blog. I used to post everyday. Now it's more like once or twice a week. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I am your newest follower from the blog hop! Lovely blog:) You can find me at www.bouffeebambini.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteTHe ribs look delish
I love pineapple, too... It gives me kankers! *sigh* BUT, I discovered that if you GO to HAWAII and eat it FRESH, it doesn't??? They said there is less acidity. So, if I want to eat tons of pineapple without the consequences... I'll just HAVE to move to HAWAII!!! Yeah! I WISH!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the priority thing... I'm needing to back off a bit, too. Especially on the reading... It was sucking up HOURS of every day... Hmmm... OK, prioritize... ;D
We love ribs, so if/when you share that recipe... I NEED a head's up!
