Meet Me On Monday 11/29/10

Long time no blog! Ack - my computer died. It just decided to give up one day and not turn on. Actually it did this several weeks ago, presumably as a "warning" and after trying a million different things, I let it rest for a few days and it did turn on again. But I knew it was probably going to do it again and thankfully was able to get all my files backed up before it happened again. And it did. And after trying and trying the bugger still won't turn on.

But thankfully I "know people" through work and one of the contractors helped me out. He wasn't able to fix it without considerable funding and it didn't seem to make a lot of sense to do so for a three-year-old laptop so... fortunately he had a few spare computers from another client. And he was able to give me a screaming deal on one, that is actually faster and better than the one I had.

So I'm getting used to it - it's much larger but the screen resolution is great and it has a few other bells and whistles my other one didn't. It is used, but doesn't seem to be used much and the best part of all is that my IT guy was able to load the programs I needed on for me, then I was able to load up my files from my backup and voila ~ I'm back in business.

So short story long... I'm back. And it's been some time since I've done Meet Me on Monday so I figured I'd give it a whirl today.

1. What is your favorite way to eat chicken?
Fried chicken tenders soaked in Buffalo wing sauce, with a side of bleu cheese dressing and a Bud Light. In fact, I could go for some right now. There's a local bar & grill nearby called Blue 32 which has the absolute best version. And their onion rings are tasty too.

2. Have you decorated for Christmas yet?
No, but I will probably do so this weekend. Hubby actually put up the icicle lights over our garage the other day - first ever time he beat me to the decorating. No idea what possessed him, but they look pretty good.

3. What is your favorite article of clothing?
My jeans - I love Old Navy jeans and on Black Friday they  had them on sale for $15. I swore I wasn't going to go out, but just couldn't pass up a deal that good.

4. Do you pay your bills online or write checks the old way?
Mostly online but the bank that issued our car loan actually charges a "convenience fee" for doing so! So I just  write the check and take it to the bank. I don't think I trust the mail to get it there on time.

5. Do you make Christmas cookies?
Yes. A gluttonous amount. And I host a cookie exchange too. I think I could go the whole month of December eating nothing but Christmas cookies. But then, I would have to hope for another sale on Old Navy jeans from the bump up to another size (or four)!

  1. Hi Jen! Greetings from another Arizona blogger and new follower! After reading the way you like your chicken I was craving not the chicken (only because I just had pie) but a Bud Light. Sadly all we have left in the house is Flat Tire, and that is a bit too much for me at this hour. We haven't decorated yet, but I hope to get the tree up this weekend. I bet your house looks great with the icicles up. :)

Have a great week! Hope you can stop by.
