January highlights

January was of course another busy month for us. We started out 2011 with a "bang" - literally. (Some) fireworks were legalized in Arizona and I went to COSTCO and loaded up on a mega-pack. In fact, we only were able to blow off about half of them (largely due to the frigid temps), so I guess the other half will be saved for July 4th (the only other legal time we can do this here). We went to Kathy & Jim's house - it was a good time as always.

On New Year's Day Terry took Justin to the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl - they had a terrific time, Justin was thrilled. He has become more a fan of college football than pro lately, so he was really into it.We've been submerged into lacrosse lately - Justin's games started up and both boys now have practice three times a week. Eric's first game will be in late February but we've been having fun going to Justin's which are every Saturday and just about every Sunday. Justin is having a ball playing and is quite good. They won their first game which was in Tucson on the 15th.

The month ended with a brief birthday celebration for myself - just family really, but that was just fine. Actually our good friends Jim and Kathy came over for a few drinks and we played euchre. It was super low-key which was A-OK. Terry and the boys gave me a gift card to Lifetime Fitness (where we have a membership) so I can get a massage from my very favorite masseuse, Carin. :)
So now on to February - a sneak peek: Business trip to San Diego for me, the Super Bowl, more LAX (for both boys) and birthdays for Eric and Grammy Sue.

Jen, do the cities actually allow you to set these off? In WA many areas sell them, but you have to go to the beach to set them off. Just curious how that is working out?
ReplyDeleteYes, the cities do allow it, but we are a large metropolitan area (Phoenix) with many outlying cities and each city has their own ordinances which can vary a bit. The photo above is from my friend's backyard. There's no beach here!
